Frank is busy creating this piece – Ballerina 3 – it is moulded and has been sent off to the foundry for casting – hopefully it should be available in bronze in a couple of months’ time.

Frank is busy creating this piece in clay – Girl relaxing with a book. It will soon be ready to mould. He will then send his completed wax on to Chalkos Fine Art Foundry for casting which will take a couple of months.

New Works in Progress
These are the waxes of 3 Cats I have created which are now ready to be cast into silicon bronze. They should be available in bronze by mid-September.
Here are 2 photos of my latest piece being a Schoolboy – these shots are still in the clay. Mould has been made but waxes are in pieces and sent off to the artistic foundry. This sculpture will be available during September.

New Ballerina sculpture in the wax, mould completed, it is now ready to be cast into silicon bronze at the artistic foundry; 6 – 8 weeks before it is available in the bronze

New Studio Location
Frank has been incredibly busy moving into his own
studio/workshop which has required alterations to give him a
great new gallery space. He is now up and running at his new
address: 3/25 Kays Lane, Alstonville. All his
contact details such as telephone, fax and email remain
unchanged.

End of Editions
These editions are nearing completion and only a few remain. Frank has also applied his new airbrushed pigment technique to these sculptures.

Creating diverse magic!!
Frank remains buoyant about art and apart from continuing to create beautiful new bronze artworks he has perfected a technique of applying pigments to bronze using heat. This is completely different to the traditional method of patination. People should have art around them; it lifts their spirits and produces general well being.

Brisbane Grammar School Art Show
Brisbane Grammar School in Gregory Terrace Brisbane presented its 42nd Annual Art Show on 19th and 20th August 2011. Frank showcased a few of his latest bronzes. The sculptures attracted a great deal of interest at the exhibition however only “Sisters 2” (see photo) went to a new home.

Clem Jones Unveiling
A recent unveiling on 12th December 2010 of a Frank Miles life size bronze bust of the late Clem Jones (see photo) pictured with Frank is Rollie Cowan. Clem Jones was the Lord Mayor of Brisbane for 15 years.

Steptoe Unveiling
A recent unveiling on 24th September of Frank Miles life-size bronze pelican "Steptoe", (pictured left) commissioned by the Ballina Shire Council, at the Fawcett Park Wharf. This wharf was renamed on the day to the "Lance Ferris Wharf" in honour of the late Lance Ferris the towns' famed 'Pelican Man'. This was a very exciting moment for Frank as well the Australian Seabird Rescue Service and Lance's family members.
